Menu structure doesn't update anymore
-
My menu structure doesn’t update anymore. Any changes I make to the stucture are not reflected in my site. This happened after I made a change to the structure, including adding a contact form.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
That is indeed strange. Have you tried, as a test, removing the contact form and adding another item before updating? -
-
I am having the same issue as the OP. No menu changes are saving including adds, re-ordering, sub-menus, etc.
-
Support solved it for me: I had to check the ‘Primary Menu’ checkbox. Now all works well again! :D

Interesting. I don’t have a box under Menu Settings marked Primary.
I guess I’ll contact support. Thanks for the help!

@ mlcotcher.
Scroll down to the bottom of the Menu Structure (the area where the menu items are) to find Menu Settings, and you should see two or more options, with one of them being “Theme Locations [checkbox] Primary Navigation.” Place a check in that box -
Thank you for the detail, @musicdoc1. Unfortunately the only checkbox beside theme locations is labeled “Top Navigation”. There is no other option. (FYI, I’m using the Linen theme)
-
That might be it. Have you tried checking that? There may be some variation between themes.
-
I tried altering the menu, sub menus, and their order with “Top Navigation” checked & unchecked – nothing saves either way.
-
Checking the “Primary Navigation” box only results in the custom menu replacing either the default menu (or another custom menu in some themes in which multiple menus are supported). I presume the box at “Top Navigation” may do the same thing. This action does nothing to help the menu be saved. Failure of the menu to be save when you click the Save Menu button sounds like a different issue, likely browser related. You have been using the Save Menu button, right?
Btw, since Linen is a premium theme, it has its own support forum, here: https://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/linen.

I meant to say,
Checking the “Primary Navigation” box only results in the custom menu replacing the default menu (or possibly another custom menu, in some themes in which multiple custom menus are supported).
-
Yes, I’m clicking the save menu button. I tried using Explorer to see if a browser change might help, but it had no affect (I use Chrome).
I’ll ask in the Linen forum.
Thanks again for your help & patience.

You’re welcome, ml. And good luck. : )
One more correction:
Checking the “Primary Navigation” box only results in the custom menu replacing the default menu, or another custom menu previously activated as the primary menu.
