Menu structure using categories
-
Hi
I want to check if this is the best way to setup a menu using categories.
Example:
Home (All posts)
Parent: Recipes (Posts from child categories)
– Child: Lunch (Posts of child 1)
– Child: Dinner (Posts of child 2)
Parent category 2 (Posts from child categories)
– Child 1 (Posts of child 1)
– Child 2 (Posts of child 2)
ContactI’ve made a parent category with child categories and linked them to my menu.
When I want to publish a post in a child category, I think it should also be published in the parent category, otherwise that page will be empty?!
I can imagine this might be bad for SEO. But I don’t know how to do this otherwise. Is there a better way to do this?
Thanks :)

It will be, if you assign the “child” categories as subcategories at your categories page.
Example:
Parent category page: https://ananas9.wordpress.com/category/recipes/
child category page: https://ananas9.wordpress.com/category/recipes/lunch -

If you assign both the parent and child categories to your posts, the parent category pages will not be empty, but rather will contain posts of each child of that category.

I already figured that out.
Is that bad for SEO? (Double links?) If so, how can I fix it?
