Menu tabs are not static

Hi, I have created a custom menu and assigned parent and child pages. The problem I have is the parent menu tab is not static, when I refresh the parent menu button it opens on a page that has the title of the menu and space to leave a reply. I have followed the steps for creating static top level menu options, i.e. I used a custom link and inserted a # into the url box and populated the menu title box, and then clicked ‘add to menu’. I then moved the menu to the correct place in the custom menu. And, obviously I have saved the menu after making the changes. I must be missing out a step, can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

If you create a static Page without any contents on it this is the result. The solution is to remove Pages that have no content from your custom menu.

You mean you want tabs such as your “Recipes” to be non-clickable. The solution is what you described. But the behavior of your menu shows that your parent menu items are pages, not custom links with no URL. As newtownforbes suggested, are you sure you have selected the right menu from the Theme Locations pulldown after creating and adding your custom links?

Thanks you so much everyone. In all my fiddling around I must have activated my primary menu by mistake…still don’t remember when I did it, but I obviously did. Have activated my custom menu again and the menu tabs are now static. What a great community of support. Thank you again :)

Did you try switching to a different theme perhaps? The Theme Locations pulldown may revert to blank (regular menu) when you do that. -
