  I would like to add categories to my custom menu but as sub menu. In other words, when someone hovers over “Photography” in the top custom menu that I’m currently using, it will drop down the Categories menu. Is that possible? Thank you.

  Yes, it’s possible. You add the categories to the menu, drag them below the “Photography” item, then drag them horizontally as shown here:
