Menus
-
I’m currently working on my site using the theme called ‘Button 2’. So far on my menu header I have menus titled ‘Home, Blog, DIY, Contact, About’. Home, Contact, & About are static pages, and Blog is fine.
I’ve added a page and menu called DIY. However I want to customize ‘DIY’ to display different post similar to the layout of how ‘Blog’ post works. However I am not sure how to customize it.
I do not want the menu titled ‘DIY’ to be a static page, I want to display numerous project ideas with my viewers, once they click ‘DIY’ menu option.
How do I go about customizing my site? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @beutiflee
Follow these steps:
There are two options to creates pages that show blog posts from a particular category.1. Using the Display Posts Shortcode:
i. Create a new page by following the steps given here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
ii. And then, use the display posts shorcode in that page to display posts from a particular category:[display-posts category="must-read" posts_per_page="-1" include_date="true" order="ASC" orderby="title"]
More information about using the display posts shortcode can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/display-posts-shortcode/
2. Create Category Pages:
Follow this official support guide to create Category pages that will pull posts from a particular category: https://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/NOTE: Please make sure you add categories to your blog posts to make these work. Guide for adding categories to a post can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/
And then add custom menu links(to the category pages) to your menu bar:
1. Go to My Site(s) → Customize(Beside the Themes option) or just click here: https://wordpress.com/customize/. This will open the site Customizer.
2. On the sidebar of the Customizer, click on Menus.
3. Click on Primary.
4. Click Add Items button to add a custom link to the menubar.
5. Click on Custom Links tab.
6. On the URL field, paste the link to your etsy store and on the Link Text field add some that that you want to display for the link.
7. Click Add to Menu.
8. Finally, click Save & Publish.More information about this can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
Hope these help. 🙂
