menus??? they dont seem to work!

  heya!

  hi i need to know about menus! ok here is the story….

  I created a menu recently and i did all the theme loacation things but when i clicked save and went back to my home page it showed all my posts :D but it didnt show all my pages at the top… just the ones i had put in the menu and also it showed up there the tags i put in the menu.

  i am trying to get that thing where you mouse over a thing at the top and then it shows a list of things (which are scrolled down)

  It wont be on the site right now because i deleted my menu.

  I am really desperate for a reply so please help
