Menu/Sidebar Color

CSS Customizing Code – Espied Theme
#menu-main-nav li strong {color:#FFFFFF !important; font-size:14px !important; font-family:verdana !important;}
The menu doesn’t seem to change when I ‘tweek’ any of the above code. I think my error may be in calling it a menu vs a sidebar?
Gail, Thank You :)

Hi Gail,
I’m unsure of what you’re trying to change. Are you trying to adjust the color of the menu items shown here?
If so, this should change them to white and set the font size:
ul#menu-primary a { color: white; font-size: 14px; }You will need to set the font under Appearance -> Customize -> Fonts.

Hello;
Thank you for responding. Here is a link of a page which is correct in that the menu (I think it’s called the toggle) and the sidebar are both black – http://escortinternetdesign.co/. Here is a link showing what the remaining pages look like – http://escortinternetdesign.co/about/. The menu (toggle) is black but the sidebar is brown. If I could have the CSS customization code, I think I can apply it to the pages by myself.
Thank You,

Hi Gail,
Thanks for clarifying! This should do the trick across all pages:
.js body:after { background-color: #000; border-color: #000; } -

Hi Again,
Check out this page please, http://escortinternetdesign.co/portfolio/precisely-yours/
The boxes or the area behind those left and right arrows and the one with all the dots – What are those called? And how do I make the background black. I still want the red when activated. It looks cool with the black.
Thank you,

This should do the trick!
nav-archive a::before, .js .site-main .post-navigation .nav-previous a::before, .js .site-main .post-navigation .nav-next a::before, .js .site-main .post-navigation .nav-archive a::before { background-color: black; border-color: black; } -
Yes. Your code worked. This is my last forum question prior to a host and wordpress.org. Please extend my thanks to all the support staff at wordpress.com for the wonderful assistance.
Thank You,
