merge 2 accounts and retrieve deleted username

  I created a wordpress account years ago with a school email I no longer have access to, but I can still login to wordpress.
  A year ago I created a new account under my personal email.

  I want to use the username of my first account with my new account. Is this possible?

  I tried changing my old account’s username and chose the option to discard the original username, hoping it would be made available for me to use with my new account. This was not the case…

  Hi liamlawl,

  I’m sorry to tell you that according to the support page on how to Change Your Username:

  Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use.

  The next best step would be to choose a username that you want to keep.

  Also, it might be helpful for you to read through a few support pages about related topics like Transferring a Site to Another WordPress Account, or Deleting a Site, in case you’re thinking about it.
