Merge Blog with Site

  Hello everyone, I would like to merge my blog with my website. Both of them are hosted by wordpress.com! Can someone help me with this? Thank you

  Hello there,

  Since both your blog and your website use the WordPress.com platform, merging your blog with your site is quite an easy task.

  First, you’ll have to export content from your blog using WordPress.com’s export feature. (Tools –> Export). Through this process, the entire contents of your blog will be downloaded to your computer as a file.

  You may now import this file to your site that runs on WordPress.com using WordPress’s import feature (available at Tools –> Import). Please feel free to refer to this support article if you want any further clarifications:

  Now that all the blog posts from your blog are now in your site, you may appropriately create a static front page, as well as a new ‘blog page’ to display your blog posts there and add a menu item too.

  Thanks for the reply I appreciate the effort. One more thing. I followed the steps and I managed to import the blog. How can I make now the blog to be in the same domain like the site? Not to be different domain.
  I want to improve my SEO for both.

  Hello,

  If you have imported the blog posts from domain 1 (the WordPress.com hosted blog) to domain 2 (the WordPress.com hosted site to which you transferred your blog posts), you may very well delete the old blog, since all your old posts are in your new domain.

  Search engines like google, bing etc may have indexed your old posts from your older domain, so it might take time for your new posts to be indexed.

  Alternatively, you may also want to try the try the site redirect feature of WordPress.com for domain 1 (the blog) , which automatically redirects all your old links from your old WordPress.com blog to the new domain.

  For example, if your old blog post URL is:
  myblog.wordpress.com/2009/10/post-name/
  with this upgrade, if someone were to try and visit this post (using this permalink), (s)he would be redirected automatically to:
  mynewdomain.com/2009/10/post-name/
