Merge two accounts, two blogs

  Hello.

  I have two blogs under different usernames and would like to merge them, if possible. I started one blog and then decided to start another, but realized it doesn’t make a lot of sense to update both, when the subjects are similar.

  I’d like to merge wordpress.hollsandlolah.com (standard account – username hazelcharles) with wordpress.raggedbutterfly (paid upgrade – username hjaynek).

  I’d like to effectively change the wordpress.hollsandlolah blog name to wordpress.raggedbutterfly, keeping the same content and followers on that site. I could then re-post the info from wordpress.raggedbutterfly on the newly merged account, and delete wordpress.hollsandlolah altogether.

  I don’t want to redirect one site to the other, paying for a domain redirect upgrade when I’ve already paid the $99.

  Is this possible?

  Howdy Holly!

  This is definitely possible. We just need to find the best way to do it. Here’s what I’m proposing:

  1. I can transfer the domain name raggedbutterfly.com to your other blog (hollsandlolah.wordpress.com).
  2. You can then export your content from raggedbutterfly.wordpress.com to hollsandlolah.wordpress.com. This way, all of your content would be on hollsandlolah.wordpress.com.
  3. After the upgrades are moved to hollsandlolah, I can help you to delete raggedbutterfly.wordpress.com to prevent confusion.

  This way, you would be able to keep your current subscribers on hollsandlolah.wordpress.com and add all of your content and upgrades. How does that sound?

  Just a note, the admin address would need to remain hollsandlolah.wordpress.com. Even if we delete the blog raggedbutterfly.wordpress.com, that address has still been used by a WordPress.com site, so you wouldn’t be able to change the admin address as we don’t allow site addresses to be reused. However, visitors will only see raggedbutterfly.com. Does that make sense?
