merge two wordpress accounts

  Hello WordPress teams

  By mistake I created two wordpress accounts, i.e. mabagief and abagief which have a few sites/installs included in them. Both of them are mine and I would like to merge them into one, i.e. I want to keep mabagief, with email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) as main email and have all domains (satsang.ro, dhamma.ro, and blogfaraderost.wordpress.com) attached to it.

  Because I cannot delete abagief wp account, i need this operation to be done manually.

  You are talking about wordpress.ORG sites. These forums cannot help you: we answer questions about wordpress.COM

  The two are very different from each other:

  Hi 1tess. Actually it’s about wordpress.com account, not .org. It is here where I have created the two accounts I’m talking about.

  Will you please just post the URLs starting with http:// when posting to these support forums? then we won’t be wasting time on unnecessary back and forth responses.

  To merge blog content you export an XML file (copy of the content) of one blog and import it into the other. Then you can make the blog you exported content out of private.

  Log into the first blog, go to Tools → Export, and download the XML (WXR) file to your computer.

  In the second blog, go to Tools → Import → WordPress, and upload the file you downloaded in step 1. After you upload the file, you can choose the option to Download & import file attachments if you want to move your media files.

  Thank you timethief. Actually it is not about the importing blog content from one blog to the other (this I know), but about general wordpress.com account.

  If one logs in https://wordpress.com, one can register a wordpress.com blog or even add new blog to their account. The situation is that I have two such accounts on wordpress.com and I want to delete one and leave the other as per notes above.

  Hi Mihai,

  I have already added your other account (mabagief) to the wordpress.com site, so you can sign in with that user information for that blog now.

  I’m asking our internal team about your other account, because changing the user account it is associated with will upset your stats. I’m seeing if there’s any way around that. I’ll keep you posted.

  Hi again Mihai,

  So for your Jetpacked site, you can disconnect your Jetpack and reconnect using your mabagief user account. This shouldn’t affect your stats, but please keep an eye on them. If you do see something weird with your stats, just let me know right away, because we will have an easier time mending it, the sooner we know.
