Merging a deleted account
-
Hi, is there any way to merge a new account with a deleted account?
-
Deleted accounts don’t exist, so they can’t be merged. Is there a site you’re trying to get back or a username? What was the deleted account?
-
It’s a deleted blog. I opened a new one using the same email address, so I am wondering if that will prevent me from being able to recover the old one- if that makes sense.

You can’t open a new WordPress.com account with the same email as a deleted account until 30 days have passed. At that point, the sites within that deleted account would have been permanently purged and unrecoverable. What was the blog address, and how long ago do you think you deleted it?
-
I deleted it in 2018 and was hoping I would be able to recover the account so I could delete some old comments that are still showing up in a Google search.
Thank you!

You can’t delete comments made on other blogs, sorry.

If you deleted your own account in 2018, the blog that account owned would also be gone. If that blog is still in searches, then it’s likely that the account owning it wasn’t deleted. If you still see your old blog, share the site address.

Thanks @darciemg!
@daysandimages I’m not sure yet what you have in mind with merging, but if you need to restore an account that was deleted recently, please respond to the closure confirmation email and ask to have it restored. And then share more details about what you’re hoping to do. We’ll help how we can.
