Merging accounts.
-
I didn’t realize I already had a wordpress login with my gmail, which is my preferred username. I have three months worth of posts under another account that I would prefer to move to the one under my gmail address. Would this be possible, and how?

Hey squaremeat,
You can merge two WordPress.com accounts by transferring all the sites from one account to the other:

After the transfer you can deactivate the account you no longer want:

Hi there,
If you don’t want to transfer your sites between account, and just want to use your Gmail address on the other account, first change this account’s email to something else. That will free up your Gmail address so you can use it for the old account instead.

So, I’ve done the transfer but now it looks like I just own two different links under the account I wanted to keep. I wanted the posts from my original, lkvy644064795.wordpress.com transferred to squaremeat.wordpress.com
The latter address is obviously much easier to remember than the original, hence the desire for the transfer. When I try entering a new blog site/address it says squaremeat.wordpress.com is already taken. Yeah…. by me. ?!

@squaremeat if you want to move the posts as well, you can do that with My Site > Settings > Export. Then import into the other site.
