Merging Accounts?
-
Hi, I have a wordpress site that I host on godaddy but I also have this wordpress account I made before I knew godaddy had that capability. I cannot log into the godaddy wordpress account independently even though it asked me to sign up, so I was under the impression I had a wordpress account. I have tried to ask for password reset emails and it recognizes my username but not my email. I wanted to find a way to merge the accounts if possible, because this is very frustrating and has been for several days.
WP.com: Unknown
Jetpack: Unknown
Correct account: UnknownThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Hi there, could you let us know the URL of the site you’re having trouble with? Please bear in mind that we are able to help with sites that are hosted here with us on WordPress.com, but for sites using the WordPress software from WordPress.org, there is a community forum at this address:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ -
Oh, I thought it would be visible to staff, sure. It’s hosted via godaddy but I was asked to make a wordpress account so I’m very confused about where this wordpress account…exists and how to get into it without going through godaddy.:

Hi there,
I want to get clarification when you mention that you want to merge accounts. Are you wanting your site hosted with Go Daddy to be hosted with us here at WordPress.com? Or do you want access to your site hosted with Go Daddy while logged into your WordPress.com?
The former would require you to transfer your site over to WordPress.com. If you want to move your site from self-hosted to WordPress.com, you can follow the instructions on our support page here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/
If you also want to still use your current domain once you transfer your site, you can follow the instructions here:
https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
With the latter, you can keep your site hosted with Go Daddy and yet have access to much of your site content from your WordPress.com dashboard if you connected the Jetpack plugin:
However, it sounds like you cannot log into your wp-admin dashboard? Go Daddy should be able to assist you with regaining access since they host your site. If you have access to the server control panel through your web host, it is always possible to regain access to a self-hosted, WordPress site. This WordPress.org Codex article will walk you through the steps:
https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/
Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions. But, I’d recommend touching base with Go Daddy as they should be able to help you recover your site.
Thanks!

Hi, I think the title was probably a bad choice, I was pulling my hair out at the time trying to figure out a fix. Let me try and summarize it better:
I use godaddy to host my site, and when I signed up for managed wordpress they asked me to make an account, which I did. If I try to sign into this account on wordpress.com OR wordpress.org it rejects me, even after entering every password it could be, and confirming the password in my account. The login screen also recognizes my username but not my email, even though I’ve also triple checked that the correct email is listed on this account. I’m confused about if I can access this account without going through the godaddy site and, if not, why I have login credentials and a password in the first place?

Oh, forgot to note, I have tried to reset password multiple times and it does not come to my email. I still get emails from wordpress ABOUT this site, though, so I know it’s the correct email on file.

Hello there,
An account with GoDaddy would be completely separate to anything on WordPress.com or WordPress.org.
I use godaddy to host my site, and when I signed up for managed wordpress they asked me to make an account, which I did.
Do you have a link to the site where you created this site please?
