  I needed to start a blog for school as I am working on a Masters Program. Apparently, it has been almost ten years since I logged in to WordPress, but I don’t remember doing it.
  When I did my first assignment, I was able to create a new account having mistakenly typed a typo in my email address.
  My correct email address is (email visible only to moderators and staff). The INCORRECT email is (email visible only to moderators and staff).
  Please help.

  Hey there, congrats on your Masters work! We’d be glad to help.

  First, I noticed you deleted the account associated with the real email. That won’t help right away because the account won’t be completely cleared until 30 days. So here’s what I’d recommend:

  • You got an email confirming the account cancellation. Please reply to that and ask to have the account restored, so you can control the account associated with the real email.
  • Next, you can either
    • transfer the contents of this account to that user
    • OR, change the email address on that account to something else (a personal gmail for example), and confirm the change. You can then delete that account or keep it, and then change this account to the real address.
