merging blogs

How do you transfer contents from one WP blog to another, excluding duplicate posts, and then deleting that transferred blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
In order to move your content from one WordPress.com site to another, please visit our support pages on exporting and importing your content.
Once the content has been transferred, if you want to permanently delete your site, please follow this guide:
Please read the warnings and advice before deleting a site, as after 30 days we purge the site entirely and we can’t revert a site deletion for any reason.
If you want to hide your site instead, you can use the following guide to make your site private so only you and other members of the site can view it when logged in:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Thanks for the answer. Not quite what I wanted to hear, but the hiding part will do, since the reason for its existence is as a transfer from edublogs and Tumblr (which you now own).

Another question: I’m trying to consolidate my various blogs and posting services into one. Flipboard is really standoffish, but they now have RSS feeds of your content. I don’t really want to delete and re-import it so it can be triggered by an IFTTT flow with it being “new”. My site has import support but not RSS feeds, though some WordPress does. I. E. conflicting information. For my Free version, which one is it? Thanks.

Hi there,
A RSS feed importer plugin exists for sites running the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org, but that importer is not available on WordPress.com except on our Business Plan.
-
OK, again not what I wanted to hear, but money has to be made somehow. Too bad I don’t $300 in a lump sum to get that functionality.
My current and thrifty workarounds are Flipboard – > RSS – > Tumblr – > IFTTT – > WordPress. Thanks. 😴

If you’re importing your RSS to Tumblr, you can import to your WordPress.com site directly from there using our Tumblr importer:
-
I have done a Tumblr import before; when you were competitors. I wasn’t really importing RSS that way, more like IFTTT way, but the issue with my RSS reader (Feedbro) is that it doesn’t go back far enough.
That may not be relevant in a timely blog like mine. I am looking for automated backfill from the stories I highlighted there before being “lukewarm” on WordPress at the time (I. E. came into it through a Graduate School course on blogging).
I’m looking seriously as another Tumblr blog that is strictly for RSS imports. This will be easier now that you are part of the same company. Thanks.

I know that they are separate services and likely to remain that way, but I looked on the Tumblr website, created a secondary blog strictly for importing RSS Feeds from Flipboard into it, then ultimately getting it to WordPress. It has been suggested that it’s possible as a workaround to the Business plan requirement.
Here are my RSS feeds in question:
