merging my blogs

    I successfully did all that but now all my older posts were deleted! Is there any way i can find them back?!

    Hi there,

    Importing posts to a new blog shouldn’t cause any existing posts to be deleted. From which blog to which blog did you import? Did you only import the WordPress.com XML file like in @timethief’s instructions, or did you do anything else?

    Hi Kokkieh
    The problem is that i did not import my posts. I just merged the two blogs without importing my posts first! I didn’t know i was supposed to do that, it wasn’t written or suggested anywhere. So now i’m stuck with a closed blog which contains 62 posts, and which i no longer have access to. The ststem warned me if i merge the blig i will no longer becable to make changes in it, but i thought since i’m the owner and manager of the new blog it shouldn’t be a problem. Is there any way i can get access to my old blog and import old posts, or at least reverse the merge so i can continue managing my old blog?

    I don’t understand what you mean with merging your blogs. There isn’t such an option here.

    You can change a blog’s address, which moves all your content to a brand new address, leaving the original empty, or you can export content from one blog, and import it to a second blog that already exists. This process does not delete anything.

    That’s why I’m asking, what exactly did you do? On which page did you find that option? What is the URL?

    And what is the URL of the blog? I need to know what the blog is so I can check it.

    I can see only one blog in your account, https://shinshindotblog.wordpress.com/

    I can also see that you were the owner of http://schwartzes.wordpress.com/, but you aren’t anymore because you have transferred that blog to another username account. If this is the blog you’re talking about, then you’ll need to log in as the account that now owns it to access it.

    Hi and tnx again 4 Your reply. This is exactly the problem my friend. Now I don’t have any access to the old account (schwartes) and can’t transfer any of my 60+ old post to the new account (shinsnin)…

    Okay, so you have transferred your site to another account. Is the other account also yours? Do you still have access to the email address for the other account? If so, you can try to reset the password, here:
    https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

    i changed the password of the old blog via this link, but i still can login or see only my new blog – “shinshin”. i checked the control panel on “my blogs” and i can see only one. it’s as if the “schwartzes” never existed…

    That is because the old blog is now in a different account, with a different email address and a different username. You will need to reset the password for that account in order to reach that blog.

    ok, so how can i reset it? i already changed the password and it still doesn’t let me in my old account.

    Changing the password on this account won’t work. You need to log out of this account, and then try to log in with the username/email of the other account.

    Do you know the username or email of the account you transferred the blog to?
