Merging Two WordPress.com accounts
-
I accidentally have two WordPress.com accounts. My original account only has one site, while this one has several sites. I would prefer all my sites to be transferred to my original account and then I would like to change the original account’s email to this account’s email after deleting. Is this possible?

Hello there,
You can achieve this by firstly transferring the one site to your account by using this guide:
https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/After the transfer, close the account with the desired email:
https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/Then simply update the email on the account where you have all your sites:

Thank you. That is the steps I have found but the problem is on “My Blogs” page if I hover over the site no other options come up. There is no link to Transfer Blog.
My original account also is named just kelseegibbs while this one has a random string on numbers after my name. If I delete the kelseegibbs account then will I be able to update this account’s username to be kelseegibbs or is that account name blocked forever?

Arg. Above is an example of my problem. I thought I was responding with the account I started the thread as, but now it’s back to my original account. My accounts keeping switching back and forth. Very frustrating, I just want one account. This one. But most of my websites are on the other account.
If I switch to only the other account and delete this one. Will my gravatar correctly update to my other account, or are there other things I will have to change?
Thank you for your help!

Hello there again,
Hm, that’s odd, you should be seeing an option to Transfer Blog when you hover over the blogs on the My Blogs page. I will flag this post so that a staff member takes a look at it and can advise you better.
Just for reference though, if you get the Transfer Blog option working, I suggest you transfer the many websites to this account (@kelseegibbs) so that you don’t have to go through the hassle of updating your Gravatar and username.
And yes, you can change your username following this guide:
https://wordpress.com/support/change-your-username/Let’s hope we can help you solve this quickly.

Thank you. I found a work around. I was able to link my new account’s jetpack to my single site, and then transfer ownership through the connection settings. I went ahead and deleted my original account @kelseegibbs. :/ I can’t change my username back for 30 days I think, and I’ll have to update my gravatar but it seemed easier than transfering 10 different websites rather than 1.
Thank you for your help.

If it’s within 30 days, you can recover that deleted account by replying to the deletion confirmation email.
