Merging WordPress.com account and OpenID
-
Today, I made an OpenID account at:
I then used this tutorial to make my domain name an OpenID:

I was able to login to LiveJournal with my domain name, so it worked! (I have a friend who still uses them…and I leave comments at his blog) Using my domain name allows me to switch providers anytime I’d like – the need for that kind of control is what pushed me to get a domain, a host, download WordPress 1.2 a few years ago and import my LiveJournal entries.
Unfortunately, I can’t figure out:
1. How to login to WordPress.com with my OpenID.
2. How to merge my existing account at WordPress.com with my OpenID.I know you guys are setup as a provider, and that’s great, but tons of other sites seem to be, too. I’ve got my provider now, but I need more sites to support logging in with my OpenID, and merging an existing account that I had before you guys started supporting OpenID.
Is this feature in the works? I can’t find many other sites that offer this functionality, but if you guys implemented it, I’m sure the others would follow your lead (starting with Yahoo!, hopefully).
Thanks!

Probably best asked to support at:

My understanding is that wordpress.com is a provider of OpenID and only uses the original address of username.wordpress.com as the openID. I don’t think they offer a way to “combine” the two, but maybe ask staff.
