message that my site is unsafe
-
Hi. I have been told that when people click on my blogs both from Facebook and through a direct link from a search engine, a message pops up with that fateful orange triangle stating that the website may not be trustworthy or safe, and people have to click on the proceed anyway to get to my WordPress blogging website. What would cause this and what can I do to rectify it?

I don’t see any WordPress.com sites under your account here.
What is the URL of the site with the problem?

Just to let you know, Mac, I live in Ireland and I am calling it a night. Probably should have started the thread in the morning!

Hi there,
The site wanderofwanders.com appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on Hostgator, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.
You can confirm here: https://gwhois.org/wanderofwanders.com+dns
To clarify, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities, but the essential difference is that we don’t have access to all WordPress sites, only the ones hosted on our WordPress.com servers. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.
You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here: http://wordpress.org/support/
You may also wish to contact your host’s support team for more assistance. Hostgator is the issuer of your SSL certificate (which gives your site a secure https address) so the problem you are facing sounds like something they would need to look into.
Hope that points you in the right direction!
