Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 500]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com. If you need further assistance, contact Jetpack Support: http://jetpack.me/support/
hostgator support contacted and said that all the right permissions are installed on the server to be able to use jetpack
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Staff have requested that folks with Jetpack issues post their questions to the existing Jetpack forum at WordPress.org, since it would be easier to keep support focused in one place as much as possible: http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.org, click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the correct support forums for your software.

I also tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

Hi Support
Just a comment:
When updating our website, I get a spike in traffic of course. I think that somehow this admin traffic should be reflected in a separate collection spot on the traffic count.
I know it is consoling to see activity on a site that is otherwise seldom visited…. But it should be shown as ADMIN activity, not true VISITOR activity.Just something for your drawing board.
We enjoy all that Word Press does for the blogging world!

To make suggestions to Staff re: features, functions, improvements and changes we post into the Ideas Forum. Here’s the link so you can do that now https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/ideas
