  I am trying to connect google analytics with my blog here how to open up source code and embed a tag?

  There is no metadata access here at wordpress.com. And, unless you have a Business upgrade you cannot run Google Analytics. Please visit our support page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-analytics/

  If you do have a Business upgrade https://store.wordpress.com/plans/ then see here → Dashboard → Settings → Analytics under My Sites to enable Google Analytics.

  The only advertising program at WordPress.com is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains that have enough traffic to qualify for acceptance into the plan.
