Meta Data for Site

  Is it possible to edit Meta Data for the site somewhere? I heard this can only be done if you have access to the CSS/Html? Shouldn’t wp create a widget to handle this. Creating meta data is kind of a big deal. Is there a work around for this?

  I notice in my Google link (when you search for my site) it simply uses the first few lines of my sidebar widget for the excerpt below the link. I recently changed this and the info use to be ‘about’ which was perfect, but I no longer have that in my sidebar.

  Any thoughts, suggestions?
