We cannot access metadata on free hosted WordPress.com blogs as we are all on the same multiuser bloggging platform and wal blogs wearing the same thme are using the same underlying template. We cannot edit templates and themes and insert any metadata at all. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/
Google recommends the XML sitemap as the best means of communicating site specific data and WordPress.com automatically generates an XML sitemap for your blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/#xml-sitemaps-for-search-engines
There’s a special process for us to use to verify ownership of free hosted WordPress.com blogs with the major search engines and it’s the only one that we can use. http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
