  Hey,

  Any possibility of making the Meta Slider plugin standard on wordpress.com? https://wordpress.org/plugins/ml-slider/

  Or is there a way to do this in the CSS? I’m working with Sela Theme.

  The gallery widget has an option to set the contents to display as a slide show and there’s lots more information on the gallery help page.

  You might also want to check out the presentation and slideshare shortcodes which give you a few more options.

  If you have a gallery already set up on your site then if you provide a link to the page it is on I’ll see if I can help with some CSS to hide the bits you don’t want to appear.

  Paste this into the CSS area and then take a look and see if it’s what you need. It removes the entire section below the gallery image and prev/next buttons:

  .jp-carousel-info {display:none;}

  I’ve realised I’ve confused two questions I posted into one here. Apologies.

  The other thing I’m trying to do (my original question) is to turn the main header image on the home page into a slider – so the first image on this page: https://aerialicious.wordpress.com/

  It’s set up as the ‘featured’ image on the page.

  Hi Kirstin. :)

  It’s not necessary to hide the comments on your media using CSS. There’s an option to disable comments on a per-image basis via your Media Library.

  To get to your Media Library, first navigate to WP Admin. (WP Admin is the name of our older interface and can by accessed by adding /wp-admin to the end of your site’s URL.)

  From WP Admin, head to Media in the left sidebar and click on the image you wish to remove comments from. Select “Edit more details” from the resulting window and then scroll down to uncheck “Allow Comments” from the Discussion module.

  The other thing I’m trying to do (my original question) is to turn the main header image on the home page into a slider – so the first image on this page: https://aerialicious.wordpress.com/

  Sela doesn’t support a built in slider on its home page, it’s only possible to display a single large image in the header area.

  If you’d prefer a theme that does support a slider on the home page, then you can use the “post slider” filter in the theme repository to filter for them. Like so:
