Meta tags for google are empty

A Google rep has looked into our problem with search-ability, and found that our meta tags are empty. Seeing as this is something created by wordpress for our site and I have no control over it, how can I fix this problem?

I’m sorry, can you let me know what you’re trying to set up with Google? If you’re looking to add Google Webmaster Tools to your site, this guide explains how you can do so:

It started with attempting to add google analytics to our site to have the information on the traffic coming by our website.

I searched the forums, and am I correct in now understanding that I cannot add the snipet to my blog to track page views? Without this addition to our website, I’m not able to access the webmaster tools through Google. The only thing I’ve been successful with is validating our website with Google.

They then looked into why we no longer come up in a search for “crossfit mount pleasant,” which we used to show up. (Mount Pleasant is the town our gym is located.) Their response was that our “meta tags were empty” so the only thing that would work to search and find our site would be “Crossfit wando.”

I would LOVE to talk with someone about this over the phone- I’m very new to the website design world and need all the help and direction I can get!

  • We can’t help with your inability to access Google’s Webmaster Tools. You’ll need to contact Google about that.

As for Analytics, it cannot be added here, but we do offer our own stats via the Site Stats section of your blog’s Dashboard.
