Methods or help for seamless transition from .ORG to .COM

I am hearing about some discount codes that you guys got going on right now and I’m trying to weigh the idea of transitioning into .com for stability and speed reasons.

I have CSS customization and I already pay for JetPack scan daily, but really wear the ultimate consideration and factor comes into play is how easily I can switch from .ORG to .COM. Any words of encouragements or suggestions about how this can be done? Fair warning, I’m a technology professional, so I’m already familiar with things like ‘MySQL’, ‘phpMyAdmin’, ‘PHP’ and how to export and import content from WordPress. That answer won’t suffice, because what I’m looking for is a click and go solution to get my site moved over, if I do decide to move it before my .ORG hosting runs out.

    Tally-ho!

  • Hi,

So, there isn’t really a “click and go” one-button sort of solution between org and com. You’ll essentially have to export/import and then spend some time setting things up on .com. The content comes over easily, but the customizations and design are the things that you may have to put some time into setting back up.

You’ll also need to decide which WordPress.com plan fits your site needs:

Do you use plugins? Do you have a theme that is available on WordPress.com? Do you use a lot of CSS to modify the look of your site? All of these will dictate which plan features you’ll need.

Take a look and let us know if anything is unclear or you have any further questions.
