Might be a stupid question but..

I have no idea how to use this custom menu thing. I have looked and look and nothing on the forums or on support that I can see really does much to clear this up. I tried making a test menu and it wiped out my tabs at the top..as soon as I deleted it they came back. So yeah I have no idea what I am doing with this! lol…can anyone clear this up for me? I must be missing something…

I find the same problem as mistressavialune – I can’t access the post I made to my blog, – in fact I can only get to the dashboard and can do precious little there. Now I can’t find the question I posted last evening.
I’d appreciate any help please. -
To find previous posts in the forum, at the top of any forum page, click on your username where it says, Welcome, franfare!
If you are talking about this blog, http://franfare.wordpress.com/ , then I see the blog just fine and there is the default sample “hello world” post on it.
My requisite silly question: Did you “publish” the post? In your dashboard, go to posts > posts and see if the post is listed there. If it is, click on the title and make sure it has been published.
Also if you have not already, go to settings > general and set your timezone offset to your local timezone.

mistressxavialune.wordpress.com is the link. I’m not sure why you need it, but its not your average blog. just giving you a heads up :)

Thanks for your response, thesacredpath, but I’ve done all those things – including posting a question which I cannot find. Yes, I can bring up the empty blog and “hello world” default post (not posted by me) but I can’t bring up content posted – when I posted this, I couldn’t edit it.
Regards. -
To clarify the above (“when I posted this, I couldn’t edit it), when I posted a poem as a test, it came up in a line format which was not set by me and which I could not edit.
If I try to access this post again, I can’t.

We ALWAYS need the link to the blog, preferably starting with http. There are several reasons, most of which I believe are explained in the sticky thread at the top of the forums called 8 Things To Know Before Posting in the Forum.
Line spaces, along with most other formatting options, are not easily controllable on WP.com. To get double spacing, just hit Enter at the end of a line. To get single spacing, hold the Shift key down while hitting Enter. That’s about it as far as customization, unless you want to get into CSS editing or hand coding HTML.
Posts in the forum can’t be edited. Are you saying you posted a poem in the forum? Or on the blog http://franfare.wordpress.com/ ?
Here is the question you posted a day ago:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/confused-4?replies=2I found it by clicking the word Member under your name.
Where, exactly, did you post the poem and how did you do it? Did you type it into the Write Post box? Did you paste it in via Word or some other word processing program? Is it visible on your Dashboard under Posts?
You have a separate issue: this is the support doc for the Custom Menu:
Once you start fiddling with the Custom Menu, the default tabs like About and Blog are things you have to make sure are there. If they’re not, just put them in.
