    Hello there Luca,

Sorry to hear you haven’t been happy with your website hosting experience. I’m happy to assist in your move to WordPress.com.

The main problem is that unlike most blogging platforms, Wix doesn’t support the export of your content from their servers. Here is what they say:
    http://www.wix.com/support/html5/domains/connecting-domains-purchased-elsewhere/faq/can-i-export-my-wix-site-to-another-hosting-company

Normally, people moving to WordPress.com from another site can export their content, then import it into WordPress.com using these steps:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

You may need to ask Wix if there is any way you can retrieve your content from them.

If not, you’ll have to move your content manually, which will take a bit of time on your part.

    Regarding domain transfer:

While we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names. Therefore, we recommend that you keep the name registered at your current registrar. You can use the domain for your site here at WordPress.com by mapping the domain, as explained here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Of course, if you don’t want to keep your domain at Wix, you can also transfer it to another domain host. Here is a list of popular hosts utilized by many of our WordPress.com users:

    GoDaddy
    BlueHost
    DreamHost
    Rackspace
    Register.com
    1and1
    Yahoo

We don’t recommend one host over another. Any of them would work for you.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Hello, I have bought the domain name from godaddy.com so I donàt have to change this.

I also found a way to export all the content of my webpages. I have a zip file with all pages in html. Is this enough for the import into wordpress?

Could you please also assist with the whole process? What do you need?

    regards,
    Luca

Hello it looks like I have mapped the site and changed the server names to wordpress.

Can you please check if it’s working?

I also wanted to ask you how to transfer my website. All I have are html files of my pages and it doesn’t look like this is none of your options.

It would be great if you could help.
    regards,
    Luca

    Hi there Luca!

Hello it looks like I have mapped the site and changed the server names to wordpress.
Can you please check if it’s working?

I took a look and it appears as if cloudstoragenews.it is not pointing to a WordPress.com site. According to the public records for your domain, it still has Wix’s nameservers:
    http://who.is/whois/cloudstoragenews.it

I also found a way to export all the content of my webpages. I have a zip file with all pages in html. Is this enough for the import into wordpress?

You need an XML file in order to import it into a WordPress.com site. HTML files cannot be used.

Let me know how I may help further, Luca. Thank you!

    ZONE : cloudstoragenews.it.
    NS <= : ns1.wordpress.com. [192.0.80.93]
    NS : ns2.wordpress.com. [69.174.248.148]

Hello thanks for your assistance. I have updated again the data in godaddy.com. I need you to please check if now the domain name is pointing to wordpress.

    Kind Regards,
    Luca

    Hi Luca,

I just looked your site up on a third party site (http://who.is/whois/cloudstoragenews.it) and it shows that your domain still pointing to wix.com nameservers. I also ran a dig and got the following results:

    $ dig +short NS cloudstoragenews.it
    ns2.wix.com.
    ns1.wix.com.

It looks like you may need to contact your domain provider and ask them to push these changes out again to ensure that they propagate.

Hi, I have called godaddy.com and they told me that they still see wix.com as nameserver.

I have changed to wordpress 5 times now in the last 2 weeks and it keeps pushing back.

There is nothing godaddy can do about this, they said to get back in touch with you guys.

Can you please fix this issue and allow the name server change?

These are my new name server:
    ns1.wordpress.com (192.0.80.93
    ns2.wordpress.com (69.174.248.148)

    Regards,

    Luca

    Hi Luca,

Your domain is not registered with us, so we cannot change your nameservers for you. I did a whois lookup at http://www.nic.it/web-whois/index.jsf?set_language=en and according to them, your domain registrar is this company:

    Organization:1 Api GmbH
    Name:1API-REG
    Web:http://www.1api.net

They are likely the company through whom you purchased your domain. They are where you need to go to update the nameservers.

  • Unknown's avatar

I am trying to contact them, I sent them 2 emails and called them many times. But nobody replies.

I will try again until someone replies.

    thanks

  • Unknown's avatar

No problem. I’m sorry that we’re not able to make that change for you!

  • Unknown's avatar

I finally reached 1 Api GmbH and they said they pushed the domain change name.

But todate I haven’t seen any change.

You would make my whole life a lot easier if you could just give them a call and explain the situation please.

I don’t know what to do anymore.

    Thanks a lot,
    Luca

I’m afraid that’s not something that I can do. No registrar will accept a call from a third party asking for them to change nameservers for a domain. It’s a huge security violation and is not allowed in our industry.

I apologize however this is something which you will need to do.

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, godaddy replied to me and said I need to contact my domain hosting company.

The domain hosting company said I need to contact wordpress.

What the fuck is happening? It has been 6 weeks since this problems arised and NOBODY is fixing it and my website is now parked on godaddy.

I cannot accept as a customer to be treated this way. JUST FIX THIS PROBLEM otherwise I will write 1000 negative reviews and report to BBB.

  • Unknown's avatar

I fully understand that you are frustrated. It looks like you have made progress with one of the groups which you have been in contact with. Previously when I looked at your site’s nameservers online, they showed Wix’s nameservers. Now, when I look at them they show GoDaddy’s (which are ns81.domaincontrol.com and ns82.domaincontrol.com).

You have a couple of options at this point. You could go and try and have your nameservers pointed towards us:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

At which point your site should start working just fine.

Alternatively, you can create a self-hosted WordPress.org site at GoDaddy. If you contact support there, they should be able to walk you through setting that up. We would not be able to provide you support for that, but they would. I would also be able to refund you for the domain mapping which you previously purchased with us if you go with this choice.

Let me know what you’d like to do!

  • Unknown's avatar

    i did change again to

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
but I don’t see any change. How long does it take?

  • Unknown's avatar

It depends on the TLD type (the ending of the domain). COMs and NETs take only a couple of hours. But country-code domains like .us, .mx, and .it take much longer. It can take 72 hours or so for nameserver changes to be seen properly.

  • Unknown's avatar

Checks havr failed. It’s unacceptable that my site is offline and nobody cares.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

I can prove to you that the problem is with wordpress, not with godaddy and not with 1api.net.

Go to http://www.nic.it/dns-check/ and then insert http://www.cloudstoragenews.it and check result.s

I spoke to 1api.net and they say there is nothing they can do, wordpress needs to fix this problem.

I am losing a lot of traffic cause my website is offline now.

  • Unknown's avatar

When I go to the site which you provided and enter in cloudstoragenews.it, it states that the nameservers which cloudstoragenews.it is pointed to are ns81.domaincontrol.com and ns82.domaincontrol.com, which are GoDaddy’s nameservers, not ours. Here is a screenshot of what I see:

    Screen Shot 2015 01 19 at 8 38 10 AM

We cannot control domains which are not registered here with us, so until those nameservers are changed to be pointed towards us there is nothing which we can do. Once again, the nameservers which they need to be changed to are:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

I sincerely apologize that I cannot fix this for you, but I cannot.
