Hello there!
I read this forum post but unfortunately it is closed now!
I moved my site to bluehost and I would also like to get my followers moved with me ;). Any advises?

Bluehost Live Chat was very unsatisfying.
Thank you!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you installed and configured JetPack on your Blue Host Blog?
What is the domain name you need the subscribers transferred to?
I will flag this for the staff to help you
-
Yes, Jetpack is installed as a plugin! It came automatically, I will check how to configure it correctly.
WP.com domain: zupadream.wordpress.com –> transferred to –> http://www.zupadream.com
Thank you SO much!

The subscribers have been moved as requested. Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

hey, thank you so much for helping me! when I added the ‘subscribe to blog via jetpack’ to my sidebar in the Widgets area, it showed 0 subscribers. Are you sure that it worked?
-
-
Yes, it is still saying zero. I am using Blog Subscriptions (Jetpack) Widget. Should I try a different one?
-
Sorry Sorry!
I just opened my Site Stats and it showed a number of blog followers!! Thank you! I guess now it’s just up to me to figure out how to display them properly.
So those people will keep getting my posts in their WP reader / email?

thank you thank you thank you. One LAST question, I swear. Any chance I can access my reader and keep following my followers via wordpress.org?
-
Sure! you can access the reader at http://wordpress.com/#!/read/ and adding blogs using the steps here http://en.support.wordpress.com/reader/#adding-new-blogs
“You can also add any non-WordPress.com site with an RSS feed to the Reader by clicking Blogs I Follow > EDIT, and then adding the blog URL to your list of followed sites”

Hey hey, sorry, just found something else. Is there any way to migrate the ‘Likes’? I saw that Likes didn’t transfer to my posts =/ .
Thank you!
-
-
Ok, I’ll definitely take that offer! Thanks! Is there a way of getting into the wordpress freshly pressed section? I used to get likes and new followers after publishing, it doesn’t seem to happen right now.
-
The stats have been merged. Freshly Pressed only highlights WordPress.com blogs posts.
You can follow the steps in this guide on how to get more views and traffic: http://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-more-views-and-traffic/ (most tips also apply on self-hosted WordPress.org blogs)

Hey there,
I am sorry but I don’t feel like my old subscribers still get my new posts in their readers. What exactly happened when you transferred them over to the new platform wp.org?
Thanks!!
-
Your subscribers will still see your posts in their reader but because your site is hosted elsewhere your posts won’t be searchable through the Reader tags/topics anymore.
Let me know if you need any further assistance :)
