Migrate free site to a new server/hosting

  Hi folks. How do I migrate my free wordpress site to a different hosting company? I understand I need a temporary plugin for migration but don’t see any way for me to do that. Please help. Thanks. Ted

  This process involves a few steps including:

  1. Purchasing web hosting
  2. Installing WordPress
  3. Transferring your site from WordPress.com to the new host
  4. Registering a new domain name or transfer an existing domain
  5. Installing the Jetpack plugin
  6. Migrating your subscribers

  Thanks for the information scifiknux. What I need for transferring punzhupzzles.wordpress.com to a new host is a temporary plugin installed in my existing wordpress.com so all information can be ported to new host.

  I need a plug called All In One WordPress Migration or something similar.

  Any help on how to get a temporary plugin for migrating to a new hosting company from wordpress.com is much appreciated. Thanks. Ted

  Unfortunately, you cannot temporarily install a plugin. You can move the content of the site, posts, pages, media, but not the look of the site. You’ll add a theme you like and customize it on the new site.
