Migrate from a Joomla V1.5.26
-
Hi, I need to migrate an old site based in Joomla v 1.5.26 to wordpress.com.
The old joomla site has aprox 500 post.
The photos will by uploaded from a backup to flickr.com and the site in wordpress.com will link the flickr’s albums. This means that none photo should be migrated from the old joomla site.
The structure of the new site is currently created, that means we only need to migrate the post (just the text).
Do you have any recommendation or approach to do that?
Thanks in advance
Cris

Aloha,
From a few other support topics related to this I gather this will not be an easy process. WordPress.com import documentation can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/, and a few other threads with people trying to accomplish similar things can be found here:

https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/migration-from-joomla-to-wordpresscom?replies=6From this I gather you have a few options:
1) Find an extension for Joomla that allows you to export via XML. There’s this one but it only works for 2.5+, so you would maybe need to update Joomla first.
2) Migrate to something WordPress.com handles via the documentation above, then to WordPress
3) Use a self-hosted site and use a plugin there that makes the process easier such as this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/fg-joomla-to-wordpress/
I think option #3 may be the most painless, but it could be worth doing a bit of trial and error with #1 and #2 first before moving to that one.
