  I can’t find the ‘import’ button on tantehildesite.wordpress.com which is described in this tutorial: https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/view-all/

  In fact, there is no ‘tools’ menu item on tantehildesite.com … do I need a (paying) subscription for this functionality?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You should be able to access the Import tool from here:
  https://tantehildesite.wordpress.com/wp-admin/import.php.

  Let me know if you managed to access it and if you need further support from there :)
