Migrated to self-hosting, how to point old posts to new?
-
So, a few months back I moved my WP.com site to self-hosting. The problem is that I’ve now got two versions of my website, each with several hundred posts. What’s the best way to point people to my new website?
Maybe old posts would point to the same post on the new website?
Or delete all the old post and have the old site point to the root of the new site? (I don’t know how to wholesale delete posts.)Suggestions? How to?
Thanks!!

Hey Andrew,
I think you could utilise Site Redirect https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/ service for a year. It’s a paid service but within a year your readers will get familiar with the new site URL and Google will also update indexed URLs for the old URL
You’ll need to keep the same URL structure with this set up though
Hope this helps!
