Hi Rosaly!
It looks like your domain is not pointing to WordPress.com name servers yet:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?host=themilanomode.com
Please go to your domain registrar’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM NS2.WORDPRESS.COM NS3.WORDPRESS.COMFor more information, please visit the help documentation provided by the registrar and our support page:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
Your domain should begin working once you update the name servers! Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hi Rosaly,
It looks like your domain is registered with GoDaddy. If so, you should be able to change your name servers following the instructions here:
http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/664/setting-nameservers-for-your-domain-names
Specifically, you’ll want to follow the steps under “Setting Custom Nameservers for a Domain Name Registered with Us”. Can you give that a try and let me know if you’re able to change the name servers to point to WordPress.com?

can you break that to me? which means i need to pay the mapping so that it will be directed to themilanomode.com? pls explain well as i am am not a techy person.

i tried it again it it said that my domain is name is already mapped to a WordPress.com blog. so what should i do now?

Hi there,
You’ve correctly setup the domain mapping for themilanomode.com so you don’t need to purchase anything else at WordPress.com. However, the name servers on the domain are still pointed to GoDaddy. Think of name servers as directions for your domain. They tell your domain where to look for information. If you want your domain to display your WordPress.com site, you’ll need to change the name servers to point to WordPress.com. This is something that will need to be done at GoDaddy (your domain registrar), not at WordPress.com.
GoDaddy has some instructions laid out here:
http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/664/setting-nameservers-for-your-domain-names
Specifically, follow the instructions under the heading “Setting Nameservers for a Domain Name Registered with Us”.
You should see that the name servers are set to the following:
ns39.domaincontrol.com ns40.domaincontrol.comYou’ll need to replace that with the following:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM NS2.WORDPRESS.COM NS3.WORDPRESS.COMGive that a try and let me know where you get stuck!

Thanks. I already did this again. Godaddy said I need to give them my ip address on wordpress so that can reset it for me. I did clear my cookies etc. yet there’s still error 404. Can you point me where to find my ip address and solve error 404?
-
Hi there,
You can use the following IP addresses to map your domain to WordPress.com:
76.74.254.123 76.74.254.120 192.0.80.250 66.155.9.238 192.0.81.250 66.155.11.238You’ll need to set custom A records for your domain using at least two IP addresses listed above. If you pass those along to GoDaddy, they should be able to do it for you.
Please note, IP addresses are subject to change meaning they addresses may change at any moment. In that case, if the IP address you’re using changes, your site will stop working. Using at least two separate addresses is a precaution to avoid this happening. However, if sometime in the future you notice your site not working correctly, it’s likely the IP addresses are out of date. If you just contact us again, we’ll be happy to provide you with the latest list!

thank you, you’re very helpful. i just noticed my blog online but an hour ago, i can’t see it. 1. should i still call godaddy or leave it like that? another question. i don’t see my plug-ins. 2. how can i have it on my dashboard?

Hi Rosaly,
It looks like your site themilanomode.com is now loading your WordPress.com blog. If the domain is not loading correctly on your side, could you try clearing your browser’s cache? Instructions can be found here:
Regarding the plugins, they’re only allowed on self-hosted sites, not sites hosted at WordPress.com. This is mainly for security purposes. Plus, we built many features of popular plugins (like stats and subscriber forms) right into WordPress.com. You can read more about plugins here:
Let me know what features you’re looking for, and I’ll help you to find a comparable feature at WordPress.com!
