I’m as technical as a breeze block, so please forgive me! I have a site with 123-reg. But I want to be with WordPress. My goal is to upload and sell my video tutorials from my website, where customers can create memberships so they can log in and view their purchased videos at any time.
On my control panel, 123-reg has a button that says ‘WORDPRESS HOSTING’. They have a package called ‘ULTIMATE’ at a cost of £26.99 a month. On the spec it includes WooCommerce. Now, if I buy this package, does this mean that my website will now be hosted by WordPress and I can begin uploading and selling? And, most importantly, will I just be paying the £26.99 per month or are there additional costs?
Thank you so much for your help (I know I’m daft)I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Good Morning –
No worries! We are here to help. Keep in mind that we all start at the very beginning and you shouldn’t be worried or ashamed to ask questions. We got you!
Let’s take this one piece at a time.
I have a site with 123-reg. But I want to be with WordPress.
Can you share the URL with me? I’d like to have a look at what you have built already.
My goal is to upload and sell my video tutorials from my website, where customers can create memberships so they can log in and view their purchased videos at any time.
Perfect. This project sounds like an excellent fit for our business plan. That plan allows you to integrate plugins and an ecommerce solution. This plan includes additional tools to help you with SEO performance and growing your business. I use WooCommerce to manage my own small business set up, which you can use on the business plan. It’s really robust and fully customizable, you won’t outgrow that option.
On WordPress.com our team offers a managed hosting environment. This means that we handle all the back end details of the site. Things like back ups, updates, security, spam, your domain connection, seo, ssl, mobile optimization, top notch hosting specs, and live chat support for sorting out any errors or bugs that pop up along the way. When you run a stand alone WordPress installation software, on a separate host, then all of those details fall on to you – so instead of being able to focus on content and growing your business, you spend a ton of time and frustration trying to manage these back end details.
Write back with any other follow ups. Happy to talk through things and get you moving forward with this project!

Hi! I’m so sorry I’ve just seen your reply – life is so hectic and I’m so new to this! My current site with 123-reg is http://www.nicolajanecupcakebouquets.com
I’ve purchased the business plan and I’m just reading through the links I’ve been sent to import my domain over to WordPress. ALL help and advice is so appreciated, it takes so long for me to read and understand everything!

No worries. We will be here as long as you need us.
Step 1: You’ve done. Which was to get the plan on WordPress.com. Bravo.
Step 2: Connecting your domain to the plan. Did you want to use nicolajanecupcakebouquets.com or nicolajanecupcakebouquets.co.uk ? Or both ?
nicolajanecupcakebouquets.co.uk is the domain that was connected to your business plan. That’s not set in stone, though. We can help you change that to the .com version if that’s what you are wanting to us. It’s also possible to use both of them. It can improve your SEO over time and broaden your reach online. If using both domains you just need to tell us which one you want to have shown in the address bar when folks are seeing your site, and any one who uses the other version would get automatically redirected to the domain you pick.Step 3: You build the site.
Keep it simple. Execute what’s needed in the beginning and then expand from there. Do you have an example of a site that you like? We can have a look at that and help you with a plan to build that for yourself. There are some more tips on getting started with this page below.
