Migrating a website
-
I have a website hosted elsewhere with a domain I own that I would like to migrate over to WordPress.com; the current hosting service doesn’t offer any site export/migration support so I’ll need to move everything manually.
I would like to purchase the ‘Business’ plan to get ‘xxxx.wordpress.com’ site, manually set-up a new website (which may take a couple of weeks), and then transfer the domain to WordPress and have it point to the site site hosted on WordPress.com (after which I’ll discontinue support from the other hosting service).
Is the process that straightforward or am I overlooking something?
Thanks …

Hi there,
I you already have a self hosted wordpress importing to wordpress.com becomes very easy and you can import the whole website in just few days.
Below is the official link for importing from self hosted wordpress to wordpress.com

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks! -
To add to what neelgajjar already said, in case your current site is not built on WordPress you can find instructions for migrating from some of the most popular services here:
