migrating back from siteground

  • Unknown's avatar

I have a blog that was on WordPress and I moved it to Siteground with the WordPress plug in. Is there a way to move it back to WordPress so I can have it hosted there rather than Siteground? Thanks.

    Jetpack: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi @adfeld, sure thing. Our tools can import the content, or import the entire site with plugins and all if your plan supports that.

    Here’s how:

Also, I tried to take a look at the site to see what the import would entail. I noticed the site is inaccessible right now (401). Those tools will require an accessible site, or for content-only imports we’ll need access to your media files. Will you be able to get that?

Thanks so much for the response. The site should be accessible at empiricalscotus.com (no “www”). I just accessed it. Feel free to log on. I also have another site that I would like to relocate which is thejurislab.com. Thanks for the help!

  • Hi there,

As long as the site is online, you’ll be able to import/migrate it. @supernovia was just concerned as the site indicated in your post, http://juristportal.com/, is not publicly accessible, so imports from that site might not work correctly.

But if the site(s) you want to migrate are public, then the Import option will work to migrate the content only, if you don’t want to go for the full site migration on our Business Plan.

Also just note that, regardless of which migration option you choose, to bring your domain over as well will require one of our paid plans, and you’ll need a plan for each individual site.
