Migrating blogger to WP?
-
Hi, sorry if this has been covered already. I have a music blog and am wondering if I could easily migrate it to a wordpress platform (I know I’d probably have to upgrade my account to Premium at least, that’s OK) without losing permalinks or general functionality. I actually just setup this wordpress blog to see if I could attempt doing so (safely) in the near future.
There are a lot of files I know I can’t access in the Blogger platform, which is the main source of my concern. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For information on migrating your site from Blogger to WordPress.com, see Coming from Blogger? — Support — WordPress.com.
There may be a dip in your stats but the rest will be fine. You will have to develop the site as you need. WordPress.com handles audio files, but you probably use Sound Cloud or something similar, which WordPress.com embraces as well.
You need to set up some redirects for your blogger site unless you were using the domain name instead of the blogger subdomain. Just pay for the domain mapping feature and follow the instructions to redirect the domain registrar information to WordPress.com to redirect the site.

Thanks lorelle, I think that’s exactly the link I needed. I’m not too concerned with the dip in stats as long as it will recover after the initial shift is made. Ultimately I think the benefits of moving to WP outweigh the temporary step back, anyways.
