Migrating content

I fell off on my blogging for 3 months and during that time my hosting cancelled. I just repurchased my Cpanel hosting but now my site is on a basic WordPress site and I can’t access the backend to download a copy of my files. Is there a way to do this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Was your site hosted here at WordPress.com before? I see that girlspotblog.com is on GoDaddy now.
I see the content that you’ve linked to, but I don’t know of a way other than cutting/pasting to get it onto a new site. It’s in the WordPress.com Reader, but that may just be a cache.
Do you know if you had Jetpack connected to your old account? It’s possible that content is there as a backup. https://jetpack.com/support/backups/

Yes, it was on WordPress before. I did have Jetpack on my old site. I’m pretty sure there are back ups somewhere but I’m not sure what they’d look like on my computer.

I understand it was on WordPress, but do you recall if it was on WordPress.com or using a standalone version from WordPress.org? For more information on the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, please see this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
I can’t see your full history on WordPress.com so I’m going to tag this post so a Staff member can take a look at your account history and hopefully have some better options for you regarding restoring your content.
In the meantime, try installing the Jetpack plugin and connecting it with your existing WordPress.com account to see if it has backups stored online that you can restore to your new site. https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/

Hi gspotbrand,
I’ve checked girlspotblog.com and the domain hasn’t been connected to WordPress.com in the past. This means your site was created using self hosted WordPress.org software:
Backups are included in paid Jetpack plans but girlspotblog.com was using the Free plan (no backups included).
The site was hosted with GoDaddy so I recommend contacting them to see whether they still have a backup of your content.
Best of luck!

Don’t forget the Wayback Machine. Again, it would no doubt mean copy/pasting though to recover any old content. See: https://web.archive.org/web/20180314143717/http://girlspotblog.com/

No problem @slodaniel and the Wayback Machine was a good call @themagicrobot.
@gspotbrand — there are a few cached pages on Google so you may be able to recover some of the content from there. If you search for “girlspotblog.com”, any cached pages will have a green arrow to the right. -
