Migrating Followers

  Hi, I’m having issues trying to migrate the followers from my wordpress.com site to my new self-hosted wordpress.org site. The error message says ‘Only blog owners can migrate subscribers’. I thought I was the owner of both sites. Can you help me?

  Make sure that you have installed and activated the Jetpack plugin https://jetpack.com on your WordPress.ORG account and have it connected to your WordPress.COM account.

  Then, follow this guide to migrate your subscribers:

  The Jetpack connection for the self-hosted site belongs to a different WordPress.com username: davidjeryan

  Your account is also connected via Jetpack, but you’re not the owner of the connection. That is why you can’t transfer the subscribers.

  I can still transfer them for you, but if you ever want to transfer them away from that site, davidjeryan will have to request it. Please confirm if I should proceed.

  Thanks for confirming. I’ve now migrated those followers to the new site.
