Migrating Followers
-
I’ve got a new website and have been encouraged to keep my blog on that page to improve my standing with Google and other search engines.
A fellow WordPress blogger told me WP Support could migrate all my blog followers to my self hosted blog. Is this true?
If it is, please let me know what I need to do. I’m posting in two locations now but plan to stop doing that at the beginning of the year.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Provided you have installed and activated the JetPack plugin http://jetpack.me on your WordPress.org install, and you post the relevant URL(s) into a forum thread, Staff will do the transfer of both subscribers and stats for you. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site Do that now please as I have tagged this thread for their attention.
If you are running duplicate sites on two different domains and you care about SEO then you will want to stop doing that at once. https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/66359?hl=en To change WordPress.com blog visibility to Private go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 . See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

I am seeing sharonleehughson.com as your jetpack connected site. You have more than one WordPress.com site registered. Which is the one that you would like followers migrated from?
