migrating followers question

Hi, I have a wordpress.com website and a wordpress.org self-hosted website. I want both of them to remain active. If I already have followers on my self-hosted site, would I be able to migrate new followers from my wordpress.com site to my wordpress self-hosted site, on an ongoing basis, without losing any of my current/old followers? Will the process delete the current followers? Or will it just add to the follower count, which is what I am wanting to do? thanks!

Followers can be transferred from WordPress.com to a self hosted site that is Jetpack connected. There is some information about the process here:
This isn’t a manual process but it’s something you could do periodically if you wish.
Will the process delete the current followers? Or will it just add to the follower count, which is what I am wanting to do?
Followers won’t be removed or deleted — just transferred away from WordPress.com to the self hosted site. Those followers won’t be listed in the counts on both sites, only the one they have been transferred to.
