    Hi there

With regards to a website migration from comalytics which is NOP commerce based,to WordPress software.

What will we require to move over with a current registered domain and preexisting ecommerce portal?

Will our entire online product catalogue be able to be migrated with images to a wordpress site?

What plugins will we require to be up and running ASAP?

    Website details are:

    Hi Yusuf,

    thank you for the questions.

Please correct me if I am wrong:

Comalytics is a software which enables an eCommerce for your website, right? I see it here: https://builtwith.com/sbrprosound.co.za https://www.comalytics.com/
Your website is hosted (its “living” place) is on Aboutit Hosting as I can see here https://www.whoishostingthis.com/#search=www.sbrprosound.co.za
Your website domain is registered via ZACR, as I see here: https://www.whois.com/whois/sbrprosound.co.za

What will we require to move over with a current registered domain and preexisting ecommerce portal?

Domain transfer to WordPress.com or mapping both are possible and not so difficult, here are some useful links:
    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-pricing-and-available-tlds/
    https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

Will our entire online product catalogue be able to be migrated with images to a wordpress site?

As long as your website is not created on WordPress and does not use WooCommerce for eCommerce, am afraid it wont be possible to easily “move” from one platform to the other. Hope Staff could comment on that.

What plugins will we require to be up and running ASAP?

There may be needed some small plugins for small functionality, but the main plugin that is needed for eCommerce is called WooCommerce, it is included and is available in full power under eCommerce WordPress.com plan: https://wordpress.com/ecommerce/

If you have more questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
We look forward to hearing from you.

    @sbrbooi69:

I’m not familiar with Comalytics, but they don’t appear to have a WordPress plugin, so you won’t be able to use their service on WordPress.com. If you can explain what they do, we can better advise what features on WordPress.com can so the same thing.

If your store is using nopCommerce now, you should be able to do an export to XML, which you can then use to import to a WooCommerce enabled WordPress site (using a plugin mentioned below). You can see their instructions on how to do this here:

    https://docs.nopcommerce.com/en/running-your-store/catalog/products/import-export-products.html?q=export

NOTE: You would need a Business or eCommerce plan here at WordPress.com to do this and install other third party plugins. If you don’t want to do the work of getting WooCommerce set up, the eCommerce plan is your best bet. You can compare the two here:

    https://wordpress.com/pricing/

Whether or not your “entire product catalog” will be transferred, it’s all dependent on what information is included in the export file. You can use a plugin (not made by WooCommerce) to better control what is imported:

Import Products from any XML or CSV to WooCommerce

You may need other plugins as well, but that isn’t something specific we can advise with.

Regarding transferring in your domain, you would not be able to transfer in a .co.za domain as it is not a TLD that we support. However, you can have the domain registered anywhere and set the domain name servers to point to your WordPress.com hosted site by following the steps here:

    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/#change-your-domains-name-servers

If you need to transfer your domain elsewhere, you would need to find a domain registry (like GoDaddy) that would accept an incoming .co.za domain, and update the nameservers to point to WordPress.com.

All in all, I highly recommend getting a yearly eCommerce subscription as that will give you access to the highest priority email and live chat support. The eCommerce plan also includes two complimentary (with the ability to purchase more if needed), half-hour sessions with the ability to share screen and talk via voice to a Happiness Engineer to help you get your site up and running.

I hope that clarifies things! Let us know if you have any other questions. :)
