Migrating from HTML/CSS to WordPress
-
I have a website that was created with HTML/CSS and a little bit of Bootstrap JS. When it was created there was no need for a CMS. However times have changed and not we need CMS on the site.
This is a simple enough problem to solve – except for one point: it has over 2,000 pages!
Is there a simple way to migrate the site over WordPress without having to do each page individually?
I’m not partucularly concerned about the design or layout of the site – what I’m mainly referring to is the content.
Thanks in advance.Note:Website in question

The only option is this:
If we do not have an importing tool for your particular platform, you will need to try and convert it into one of the accepted formats so that you can use the proper importer. This means you first convert your blog to one of the services mentioned above (such as Blogger), and then import your blog from Blogger to WordPress.com.

Thank you. I guess then the question would be how to get it into a compatible format without having to edit each page manually?

Yes,

Thank you Galois. Do you know of any tools that I can do this with – how to get it into a format that I can use to import to WP?

It would depend on how your existing files are set up, but you may be able to get your files into WordPress by starting with a self hosted install. That way you could move your existing files directly to the database of the self-hosted WordPress site and then follow the regular import/export process to move to WordPress.com (if you chose to do so).
The people in the forum for self hosted WordPress sites can give you better guidance on what is and isn’t possible with a self-hosted install. Here’s a link to their forum
