Migrating from self-hosting to WordPress.com
-
Hi,
We currently have two self-hosted sites (https://hackit.org.uk and https://blogs.hackney.gov.uk). We’re considering migrating them both to WordPress.com.
If we signed up to the £20 a month Business plan would that cover both sites?
When I went to sign up to that to find out more information it asked me for a new domain name to create a new site. Can you please point me to information on how we can migrate our existing ones – including redirecting our existing domain names.
Thanks.

There are a few things that may help you decide if moving to WordPress.com would work for you or not.
Your .uk domains can’t currently be transferred to WordPress.com so you’d need to continue paying for them where they are now and map them to WordPress.com sites.

One plan applies to one site so two sites would need two paid plans. Also upgrades are charged annually in advance not monthly. Payment would need to be made by card as pro-forma purchase orders aren’t accepted.
You can create a site here with a .wordpress.com subdomain address and map your domain later when you were ready.
