Migrating from wordpress.com to wordpress.org via bluehost

    I am trying to migrate from wordpress.com. I followed the export and import tutorial at wpbeginner. However, only a few photos are getting transferred.

    I want to transfer entire content from prasadradhika.wordpress.com to prasadradhika.in.

    I have tried contacting bluehost and WordPress multiple times, tried exporting and importing multiple times but nothing is working.

    Please help. It is urgent as I have to submit the link of my website to my institute.

    Hi there,

    The export file you get from us doesn’t contain your media files. It only contains links to those media files in the library. The media files themselves are migrated over by the importer on the other site during the import process.

    As the site you’re importing to is hosted at another provider, I’m afraid there’s nothing we can do from our end to help, as we have no access to to your site or its importer logs, and no control over the importer itself.

    If Bluehost support isn’t able to help with this, please ask in the WordPress.org support forums instead. The community there makes the version of WordPress you’re using at Bluehost, and should know the best way to fix this issue for that version.
