Migrating fully to WordPress

Hi all, please send help, rather desperate–am a complete tech noob, and suckered into a fraudulent supposed “AI Builder” service for my education blog.

TLDR: How to migrate my website to be hosted fully on WordPress? I believe its now on 10web instead (a fraudulent service I recommend you keep away from).

I used 10web to build my site because it promised to replicate any web page, good for someone like me with zero coding expertise. They host (partially/ fully?) on wordpress. Where I used their AI Builder, my WordPress theme crashed and my site actually immediately became defunct, refusing to even open. Later 10Web customer agents told me that their AI services are “incompatible” with WordPress (even though WP is their preferred host) and if I wanted to replicate a whole site, I need to replicate page by page (imagine replicating 100X, instead of just using a general WordPress theme and uploading posts as and when)

Also 10Web stipulated a “free trial” but probably because I tried to buy a domain (.com), it triggered an annual fee (very unfair for me). So I am stuck with a useless service for a year (paid $200USD for it) AI services I never used, because, incompatible with WP, partially hosted on WordPress and fears that my site will be closed down by year end. I spent hours on this pet project to service students….

    Hi everyone,
I am working on a website that was developed in Joomla. It was running smoothly but now I am facing some issue like speed optimization, and some other technical issues. Due to these reasons I want to migrate my website from Joomla to WordPress.

I wan to ask how can I transfer/migrate from Joomla to WordPress without loosing data because site has complete data. My website URL is ( https://www.guides-verbier.com/fr/ ).

Kindly check it and guide me to migrate to WordPress without loosing data.

    Thank you.

  • Since your site is built with Joomla, it is not possible to directly migrate it into WordPress.com – but you do still have options.  The site can be converted manually, if you’d like to copy over your posts and pages:

Many different website hosts have their own custom-built website building tools. These offerings help people who don’t have experience coding websites from scratch to create a site of their own. However, people find these drag-and-drop website builders have some drawbacks. Because they’re a one-size-fits-all offering, they tend to lack the personalization and functionality of many modern sites.

Or, on our Creator Plan (also called Business plan) you might find a third-party plugin built to import content over from Joomla as well.

Finally, if you’re interested in hiring someone to set up the site here at WordPress.com so that it’s built with WordPress tools from the ground up, we do have site design services as well.

    I hope this helps!
