Migrating images from wordpress.org to wordpress.com

  I recently migrated my blog from netraptor.org/blog (no longer exists due to severe hacks), to kmcarrollblog.wordpress.com. Unfortunately, the import only brought along a smattering of images.

  I have the entire wordpress.org site backed up on my desktop, including all the image files. I just can’t figure out how to get them onto WordPress.com. The wp-content/uploads file is 604 MB. I did this easily on my .org site with an FTP upload, but .com doesn’t seem to allow that. Will I have to go premium?

  There is no upgrade required.

  When we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve like this one we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads. I did that for you.

  Are there specific pages that are showing broken images, or are you simply trying to upload missing images to the media library?

  If you’re concerned about broken images, please send me a few links to pages that contain broken image links. If you just want to upload images en masse, you can do that by following this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/uploading-images/

  At the moment, you can really only do this from the advanced WordPress dashboard at:

  Thanks for getting back to me! All the images are broken from 2009-2014. I guess I’ll just … upload them one by one. Thanks.

  Were you able to sort this out? I can’t find any missing images, so if you didn’t already address the issue, I’d like to make sure it’s not just a browser-related issue or something along those lines.

  Yes, if you go into my blog archives at 2012, there are no images until about 2015. They didn’t get uploaded in the transfer, and I was hoping there was an easy way to upload them in a big batch. But since there’s not, I’m uploading them one at a time and fixing links.
