Migrating my Site to WordPress.com
-
Hello WordPress.com
We have a custom and standalone WordPress site (version 4.9.16) we designed and built a few years back that is currently being managed by a traditional hosting provider.
Here is our site: http://www.miaconsulting.com.au/
Our current provider is responsible for hosting, SSL renewals and security patching (albeit ad-hoc).
Page hits are generally small with < 500 page hits / month.
Our aspiration is to have a fully managed site that we don’t have to worry about technically, so that we can focus on just managing content.
We have the following questions:
1. Are your plans fully managed including SSL + security patching ?
2. Can we migrate our site “as-is” onto your WordPress.com hosting platform and maintain our backend and UI ? If yes, what is the process for us to migrate across?
3. If no, what other options and/or pathways can you recommended?
Thank youRegards
Marcello

1. Are your plans fully managed including SSL
All custom domains come with a free SSL certificate as standard.
security patching
Please see how security is tackled on our platform here: https://wordpress.com/support/security/
Please also see more on who is responsible for what parts of security here: https://wordpress.com/support/malware-and-site-security/
2. Can we migrate our site “as-is” onto your WordPress.com hosting platform and maintain our backend and UI ? If yes, what is the process for us to migrate across?
Yes, please see how to do this here: https://wordpress.com/support/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/
I hope this helps.
